We are Disruptable
Disruptable Productions is an inclusive theatre production company, established in 2024.
Part of the Millsted Group, Disruptable was founded by Hannah Millsted-Bowdery when looking for an opportunity to help facilitate performances for under-represented groups, emerging talent, diverse communities, and learning-disabled adults.
Our purpose is simple: to make theatre accessible for all.
Theatre without limits
We believe that creativity is limitless. And that all individuals, no matter who they are, should be offered the chance to reap the benefits that theatre can bring.
Theatre cultivates compassion, open-mindedness, and acceptance, encouraging empathy and care for others, and boosting confidence and self-expression.
The team behind Disruptable combine a deep passion for and knowledge of theatre, with over 10 years in social care, to create a unique organisation, providing opportunities to groups and individuals that otherwise wouldn’t have been available. And we’re proud of that.
Current projects
The Queen is Mad
We’re very excited to be involved in our second Edinburgh Festival Fringe, this year working with Castile Collective Ltd & Pinecone Performance Lab’s ‘The Queen is Mad‘. ‘Six’ meets Sondheim in this dark saga inspired by Catherine of Aragon’s older sister, which previews at The Lion & Unicorn Theatre, London on 26th & 27th July, and then runs at The Studio at ZOO Southside, Edinburgh from 1st to 24th August.
Disruptable Casting
We’re very excited to announce the launch of Disruptable Casting, an inclusive casting agency representing learning disabled actors across the film, television and theatre industry. We will shortly be announcing an open casting call for individuals keen to join our books. Keep an eye out for more information on this in the coming weeks.
A Show About Tomorrow
We’re currently working with Disaster Class, a fresh and inclusive theatre company, and their production of brand new, original musical ‘A Show About Tomorrow‘, which premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2024. Look out for more information about future performances soon!
